The Fairview Project is a growing collection of stories by and about the residents of the fictional Chicago suburb of Fairview, IL. As the author completes related stories he will post them to this site. There is no set schedule for story completion and posting. As the playwright and writer Donald Freed once told the author, “You can’t put a clock on the artistic process.” The author does not know when the project will be completed. It is his intent to keep adding stories as long as they keep emerging from this fictional world. He will also update the links associated with the stories as necessary. What will the author do when the project is completed? At this point he can not say. Collecting all of the pieces that will eventually make up the project and publishing them as a single printed volume is a possibility. One that the author would very much like to see. But that is a long way off. In the meantime, the author hopes that visitors to the site take enjoyment in the stories and in the project’s evolution. The author must admit that although he resided for some time in a town very much like Fairview, any characters’ resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental. It is not the author’s intent to insult or flatter any particular person. As members of the author’s circle of family and friends can attest, you will know when he is insulting or flattering someone.
